Today, Montgrove participated in the City of Penrith Eisteddfod – Choral Section. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the various Choirs. They all sang beautifully as the results below show!  Thank you to Mrs Wheeler, Mrs Claridge and Mrs Sampath-Sawtell for preparing our singers.
  • Infants Choir (Years 1 & 2) – First Place
  • Junior Primary Choir (Years 3 & 4) – First Place
  • Senior Primary Choir (Years 5 & 6) – First Place
  • Combined Primary Choir (Years 3-6) – Second Place
  • Secondary Choir – Third Place
It was a pleasure to listen to our choirs perform at the Penrith Eisteddfod today. Over the years I have noticed the level and variety of the performances improve, our own choirs included. A big congratulations to our dedicated teachers, Mrs Sampath-Sawtell, Mrs Claridge, and Mrs Wheeler, who did an excellent job with preparing the girls and boys this year.

There was a record number of students involved and they all presented with plenty of enthusiasm. In fact, the lead adjudicator commented on how ‘joyful’ they were during their performances. All the choirs placed in their division, with the Infants choir, Junior Primary Choir, and Senior Primary Choir coming 1st, the Combined Primary Choir coming 2nd and the Secondary Choir coming 3rd. The Monty Ukes will be performing at next week’s Eisteddfod and we wish them the best of luck!
