Year 6
Year 6 studied electric circuits, energy conservation and also spent a lot of time researching design elements involved in home interior design. They worked collaboratively in groups and reflected on best team practice and working relationships.
I enjoyed doing our science projects - especially when we were working in groups! It was hard at first because we were used to working alone. We didn't know each other well so it was hard to figure out each other's strengths. This Deep Learning project changed all of us! Magdalena (Yr6)
It was super fun especially since there were so many parts from designing, wiring, electricity, creating, collaborating and also energy saving! Even though there were so many parts, it was fun to work together with my group. Clarissa (Yr6)
I really enjoyed making our rooms. It was so much fun. I also liked collaborating. It was good to work in a team with others who can help and support you! Carmella (Yr6)
Year 3 Blue
As a part of our Deep Learning Project, Year 3 Blue learnt about what it takes to create a picture book. From Skyping with authors and illustrators to planning and drafting stories to Yr 11 editing our stories to finally publishing our final product - our own picture books!
Last week, together with Year 6, we showcased our picture books and shared our journeys with the other Primary classes and our parents. We shared how we worked as collaborators and what a good collaborator looks and sounds like.
Showcasing our work and sharing our knowledge was a wonderful climax to our Deep Learning Journey!
Year 1 Blue, Green & White
Year 1 have been focusing on the Deep Learning competency of Collaboration. During their Science Unit: Seasons they addressed the question of 'How Do the Seasons Impact Our Lives.?' They worked in groups to research, record and share their findings. Last Tuesday the Year 1's showcased their work to their parents. It was wonderful to see the initiative the students had and the high level of work they produced.
